A key component in digital photography is the software used to transfer, store and modify your “digital media files” (photographs) on your computer. Most digital cameras come with their own software, there are a number of free programs (you get what you pay for) and then there is iPhoto. The professional Adobe Photoshop CS5 is $689.00 and the consumer is Elements9 is much less than $100.00. After over a year of working with Organizer & Elements9 (they are bundled together) I have found that Elements9 is more powerful than Adobe Photoshop CS3, has several of the new features found in the professional version of Adobe Photoshop CS5 and it is, without a doubt, one of the best deals in photography.

            Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 is rich with possibilities, so much so that the first workshop will focus on the tool palette which will enable you to select, crop, straighter, add and remove parts of the image, text and much much much more. Adobe Photoshop Elements9 has far too many features to be covered in one three-hour class.

            Organizer is a very powerful data base program which makes is possible to download, securely store and easily access your image files. We will spend a considerable amount of time going through each step of the process on how to work with these new images and existing files and even transfer files from iPhoto.

                        In this class we will cover how to navigate, and use the very valuable tools found in Organizer and Adobe Photoshop Elements9s PDFs (Portable Document File).

Introduction to Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 –I is required for this workshop

            The second workshop will focus on the menu bar where you will find the infinite possibilities of how to work with and fine-tune your digital images.

            This class will also cover why it is important to routinely profile your computer monitor, the importance of the “Save As” feature, how to process multiple file and how to resize an image for print or to share via email. The “Menus Pallet” offers an unimaginable list of possibilities: we will illustrate some of these techniques to help begin your creative process, create quality images and have some fun in the process.
