This class will cover the Fundamentals of the Craft of Digital Photography and an Introduction to the Design and Art of Photography. This class will be offered at a Groupon special of $49.00 - regular price would be $200.00+. Each student will receive a guide for how to use their camera, a detailed handout of what is covered in the class and an easy to use "cheat sheet" on technical / craft issues. This class is a combination of three classes.
This class is for anyone who owns or is about to purchase* a camera that can be set to manual. We will teach how to use those manual settings and then go from taking pictures to making high quality creative photographs. I am sorry to say that this will be a waste of time and money for someone wanting help taking snapshots with their cell phone or point and shoot camera. * I will suggest a manufacture and source if requested.
Attendees are strongly encouraged to arrive at least one half hour before the class for sign in and to find a seat - we will start on time. Seating will be theater style so please bring a note pad etc. We will take a break at two hours +/- so please bring coffee, water and a snack if you so choose..

Portland Seattle Salt Lake Denver Chicago Ann ArborSomeone asked me if I was concerned about being identified with classes where price is a major selling point - my answer is - "not so much". These classes are intended to reach as many emerging photographer/artists as possible and give them the tools of the craft and an appreciation for the art. And most importantly; an understanding that creating great photographs is founded on craft, art, creativity, practice, persistence and patience. These classes are a great "value" because they cover how to take great auto pictures as well as how to begin to create great photographs using the camera's manual functions. Future classes and Level 1- 2 & 3 field trips will offer the next step for the artist/photographers to explore the craft, to refine their art and establish their style..
